Sadly, It is a day of mourning for the people of Oyo and Nigerians at large, as Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the 44th Alaafin of Oyo, one of the most prominent Obas’ in Yorubaland and Nigeria has joined his forefathers.
According to reports, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, died in the late hours of Friday April 22, 2022 at the age of 83.
It was also reported that the prominent Yoruba monarch died at Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti.
The Alaafin, who was the permanent chairman of Oyo State council of Obas’ before his death, was born on October 15, 1938 to the Alowolodu Royal house of the former Alaafin, Oba Raji Adeniran Adeyemi of Oyo.
