University of Lagos Ranks 1st in Nigeria, 401-500 In The World

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 is out and sitting pretty within the 401-500 range is the university of first choice and nation’s pride, UNILAG.

Why does the Times Higher Education World University Ranking list matter? It is the most diverse ranking that spans 104 countries and regions.

13 key performance indicators have been calibrated to choose which university gets to be among the yearly 1,799 universities selected. Those indicators are based on:

  1. Teaching.
  2. Research.
  3. Knowledge transfer.
  4. International outlook.

Unilag being within the range of 401 -500 shows the steady and rapid growth of the university because UNILAG was ranked within the range of 801-1000 in 2020, 601-800 in 2021, and 501-600 in 2022 rankings. The school is truly living up to its name.

UNILAG is also ranked first in Nigeria alongside the University of Ibadan, which is also ranked within the 401 – 500.
