UNILORIN Begins Virtual Lectures For Large Classes

The University of Ilorin in Kwara State has issued 500 user accounts of 300-capacity Zoom licenses to its faculties and departments for virtual classes. The virtual classes will take place simultaneously with physical classes, according to a statement from the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun. The virtual class schedules have been developed for courses with class sizes of 1,000, 3,000, and 5,000 students using large-capacity Zoom licenses. Physical lectures and practical sessions will also continue to be emphasized.

The University’s management took these steps to accommodate the transportation challenges faced by students and staff. They also adjusted the lecture timetable to make it more flexible and renewed the university’s Zoom licenses. The virtual lecture option was launched to help alleviate transportation difficulties caused by the ongoing road construction and bad road conditions leading to the university from the town.
