New Crude oil tapping point discovered in Rivers.

 

 

Oil assets surveillance contractors have discovered a crude oil tapping point at Ogbonna, Oloma community in Bonny local government area. They discovered the illegal point on the Trans Niger Pipeline which actually belonged to Shell Petroleum development company. The contractors have asked security agencies to investigate the incident.

 

NDLEA catches two wanted drug barons (E be like film)

 

 

The NDLEA has arrested two drug lords of criminal organizations with drugs worth billions of naira in their possession. They have also seized their assets after weeks of monitoring and investigating the criminals. It turns out that the drug barons had tried to conceal drugs in their bellies but had been intercepted by Nigerian security agents whilst on their way to Paris.

 

More terrorist attacks: Gunmen kill three in Benue.

Three people were killed in an attack that was executed by suspected herdsmen in Imatom village at Logo local government area of Benue State. According to the community leader, the attacks took place at the village square at 9pm. The victims were Tertsea Terkimbi Adagundu, Tertsea Mkposu and Mimidoo Umburga.

 

Bayelsa teachers threaten indefinite strike—I’m pretty sure you can guess why.

 

 

The Nigerian union of teachers has threatened to commence a strike over the 30,000 minimum wage and promotion arrears. The union took the decision after a meeting which had earlier been held on October 12 after an earlier 3-day strike did nothing to move the government.

Six abductees rescued in Kaduna.

The Nigerian army has succeeded in rescuing six victims of kidnapping and killed one of the bandits terrorising Igbabgbi local government area of Kaduna state. Two AK47 rifles were recovered and though many bandits were able to escape, they had varying injuries to cope with and didn’t flee unscathed.

 

Oshimen and Iheanacho might miss the Mozambique friendly match.

 

 

The news that Victor Oshimen and Kelechi Iheanacho would be missing out on the Mozambique friendly came out via a post made on X (I miss twitter) by the team. According to the post, the striker, Oshimen would be missing out on the match due to precautionary measures as recommended by the eagles’ medical team.

Taiwo Oyebanjo has agreed to grant her estranged husband, Do2dtun, access to the kids. According to Taiwo, the reason she left her husband and refused to let him see the girls is because of the abuse she had suffered whilst she was still living with him. She says she has suffered sexual and psychological abuse, and it doesn’t seem to be something that she’ll be forgetting anytime soon.

 

Mother of ex senate president Lawal passes away.

Unfortunately, the former president of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmed Lawal lost his mother, Dr. Ezrel Tabiowo on Saturday night. Lawal’s media advisor says that she died at the age of 86.

126 Israelites are currently being held hostage.

The Israeli military confirmed on Sunday that there are currently 126 people held as hostages by Hamas after their deadly attack eight days earlier. Authorities had initially estimated the number of hostages to be 150 after Hamas launched a deadly attack which killed 1300 people in Israel. But the current figure might rise upon further investigation.

 

The French president warns Iran against escalating the already heated war between Israel and Hamas.

 

 

Emannuel Macron, the current French president has warned Ebrahim Raisi against any extension of conflict between Israel and Hamas. He’s basically warning the Iranian leader not to interfere. Macron warned against any overflow of the conflict into Lebanon during a call with the Iranian president. He made this warning because he knew of the cordial relations between Hamas and Iran.

Popular Actress, Suzanne Somers dead at 76.

 

 

Suzanne Somers, an actress that really brightened up the show, three’s a company and one of Tv’s recognized fitness pitchers has passed. She died early on Sunday morning. Suzanne had survived an aggressive attack of breast cancer for about 25 years. She died surrounded by her loving family who had been present to celebrate her birthday on the 16th of October.

 

Ecuador’s next president has emerged.

 

 

Daniel Noboa, the 35-year-old son of a banana tycoon (weird) is set to become Ecuador’s president after an election ridden by rising violence and a worsening security situation. More than 10 million people voted in the election and Noboa was able to attain 52.3% of the votes.

Zamfara university demands that students leave off-campus residences.

 

 

 

On Sunday, Federal University Gusau warned students staying off campus to vacate the premises so that they could be safe from bandits. The university urged the students to move to Gusau metropolis or the Sabon Gida area because they were now surrounded by well-armed security Personnel.

 

Abducted Zamfara university students have been rescued.

Soldiers have rescued the abducted Zamfara students after a gun duel with terrorists on Sunday morning. The students were initially abducted on Saturday after bandits broke into off-campus hostels. Two students escaped while the troops were exchanging words with the terrorists while two others were rescued by the troops.

Professor of computer engineering gives his opinion.

Professor Abdulfattah Abaoba from Maiduguri University has said that societal needs should determine and influence the curriculum used by Nigerian institutions. He said that funds should only be invested in courses that provide employment for students upon graduation.

 

Canadian University honours Nigerian environmentalist.

 

 

A renowned environmental rights advocate, Rev. Nimmo Bassey has been conferred with an honorary doctorate degree in Law by York University, Canada. Bassey is a graduate of university of Nigeria, Nsukka and hails from Akwa Ibom. He was honoured with this degree during the convocation ceremony of the university.

 

Young lady graduates from Landmark University with a 5.0 in Mechanical Engineering.

 

 

A Nigerian, Deborah Danjuma Eleojo, a recent graduate of Landmark university has attained a first-class honours and a perfect CGPA of 5.0 in Mechanical engineering. Her celebratory post on social media (X to be specific) has attracted many likes and a ton of attention.
