Unilorin: We are not exploiting graduating students 

Some graduating students have taken to social media to organize a protest against the university management exploiting them. However, the management released a statement saying the convocation items they are expected to have are for their personal effects.

President Tinubu swore in new ministers again 🥲 

Our president appointed three new ministers to his 48-person cabinet on Monday. They are Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Ayodele Oluwande, and Balarabe Lawal. 

 

They have proposed 2024 budget o 🌝 

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) proposed a budget of #26.01 trillion to be submitted to the National Assembly. They said they want the budget to be signed before  December 31, 2023, so that the budget cycle is maintained.

 

Inflation hits 26.72%! 😧 

Investors lost 89 billion as inflation hit 26.72 %. The top items driving inflation are food and nonalcoholic beverages, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel, clothing and footwear, and transport. 

Omoh! This is a worrying trend 😐

Israel is not cooperating — Egypt 

Egypt, on Monday, said Israel did not allow the delivery of relief and evacuation of foreign passport holders, leaving several supplies stuck in the only entry. 

 

NDLEA nabbed two drug barons 

These drug barons traffic drugs under the disguise of importation of building materials from China to Nigeria. The NDLEA made it known that they have been taken into custody and their assets have been confiscated.

Paedophile sentenced to life imprisonment in Lagos 😠 

An apprentice in Lagos defiled his employer’s nine-year-old daughter. According to the victim, he had been doing it repeatedly before she could summon the courage to tell her dad. The judge found the culprit guilty and he was sentenced to life imprisonment. 

 

Oga, come out or resign!

The opposition party in Ondo State, PDP, has called out Governor Akeredolu over his absence from office for too long. Governor Akeredolu has not set foot in Ondo State ever since his three-month medical leave to Germany ended. The opposition party is leveraging this fact to drag the Governor. They told him to show himself to the public or resign. 

Hmm, let’s see how it goes🙃 

 

Chaos in NIPOST 

The police were asked to arrest the ex-NIPOST boss for refusing to leave office. The president already relieved Adeyemi Adepoju of his role but he was seen in the NIPOST office gallivanting.🥲

Government should prioritize water — FAO

The Director-General of Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations said the government should prioritize water across all sectors. According to him, “Without water, there is no food and there is no food security without water security”.
