1. Bobi, the world’s oldest dog, dies at age 31!

The world’s oldest dog who lived for 31 years and 165 days has just been confirmed dead in his home town in Portugal on Monday by a veterinarian. 

Bobi was born with three other puppies into the family of the Costas in the village of Conqueiros near the western coast of Portugal. 

According to Guinness World Records, the oldest living dog before Bobi, Bluey from Australia lived for 29 years and five months before dying in 1939.  

Bobi did not only break the record for being the world’s oldest living dog, he also broke the record of oldest dog ever in history.


2. Hamas releases 2 more hostages while war with Israel continues

Hamas airlifts two hostages to an Isreali hospital to be reunite with family based on the United States demand on Palestinian militants to release the over 200 captives back to the Isreali state.

Hamas militants raided Israel from the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, killing over 1,400 people on the first day according to Isreali officials. They also took with them 222 natives and foreigners amongs elderly and young children.

The two elderly women that were airlifted when interviewed said the experience was like hell, noting vivid instances of the captive being forced to travel in underground tunnels, beatings amid other menaces.


3. Paris Museum to fix “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson’s skin Colour in Wax Statue

A museum in Paris said on Monday that it’s working tirelessly to fix a waxwork made to celebrate Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as “The Rock” after the actor explained that the skin was too pale. In his words he said, “For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris, France, so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements — starting with my skin colour.”

The actor took to Instagram to joke about the Grevin Museum’s wax figure of himself which appeared to present him as someone with white skin aside some other qualities which bore little to no resemblance to his physical image.

Just yesterday, the museum told AFP that their staff were working on his review and that an improved version would likely be presented on Tuesday Morning. Yves Delhommeau, the Museum’s art director reported that work will be done on the project all night to meet his fans’ expectations. Here’s what he said, “They’re going to work all night on it so that it’s more in line with fans’ expectations.

1. Nathaniel Bassey’s Hallelujah Challenge turns site for finding Unmarried young ladies

Gospel Music Minister, Nathaniel Bassey has caused controversy online as several ladies turned up for the Hallelujah Challenge dressed like it’s their white wedding. The hallelujah challenge is a 20-day worship event taking place at the Eko Hotel and Suites.  

The music minister had encouraged the attendees to “dress like your miracle” on one of the days which caused several people to show up the next day in graduation gowns, wedding gowns, business suits and attires, and artificial baby bumps for women waiting to conceive. 

 

2. New Netflix Thriller Addressing Issue of Justice in Nigeria Becomes Global Hit

A Nigerian action thriller telling the story of corruption and police brutality in Nigeria is causing heads to turn towards Nollywood by reaching record viewership numbers on Netflix Charts globally.

The Black Book has taken the world by storm, staying among the top 10 English-language titled films for three weeks straight, hitting at number 3 in the second week. In about 48 hours after the film release, it got 5.6 million views and was featured in the top 10 list in about 69 countries in the second week according to Netflix.

Editi Effiong, the Producer, remarked that “Films are made for audiences, and the bigger the audience for a film, the better the chances of your message going out” during his interview with some journalists. “The reality for us is that we made a film, made by Nigerians, funded by Nigerian money, to go global.” He concluded.
