Victor James Osimhen (born on the 29th of December, 1998) is a Nigerian professional footballer. He is currently on a 5 years contract with one of the top teams in Serial A club, Napoli, and the Nigeria National team. He is considered one of the best players in the world as well as the best striker in the world. He is known for his elite finishing, pace, strength, and athleticism.

He is one of the most influential and popular Nigerian football players among other top strikers like Ahmed Musa, Odion Igalo, and so on. He is a Nigerian born in Lagos, to parents in Edo State. He grew up in the Olusosun area in Oregun/Ojota of Lagos State. Growing up, his footballing idol was Didier Drogba.

The Right-footed Centre-forward Player has been playing football right from his childhood, going out with the school team and making a name for himself. He was eventually signed to the Ultimate Strikers Academy where he started his career. The Young Football Academy is located in Lagos and Victor Osimhen could be said to be an alumnus. In January 2016, his uniqueness in football after being noticed for his performances at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Osimhen committed to a pre-contract with VfL Wolfsburg, stipulating that he would officially join the club in January 2017.

The Napoli striker began his senior career in the German Bundesliga league, at VfL Wolfsburg in 2017 for a season and a half with 14 appearances and no goals. He moved to the  Belgian Pro League, Charleroi on loan from 2018 to 2019, where he had about 25 appearances with 12 goals before moving to France at Lille, where he made his European football debut with the French Club during the 2019 to 2020 UEFA Champions League.

In 2020, Osimhen transferred to Serie A club Napoli for a club-record fee of €70 million. He won the Serie A Best Young Player award in the 2021–22 season and, in the following season, helped the club win their first Serie A title in 33 years. He is the highest goalscoring African in the Serie A and currently holds the record for the most goals scored by an African in a single season.

Osimhen won the Golden Boot award at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which Nigeria won. He made his senior international debut in June 2017 and played at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. He is currently the fourth all-time highest goalscorer of the Nigeria national team. On 29 May 2023.

He was ranked number 8 in the 2023 Ballon d’Or award which was held in Paris, France, and became the first Nigerian to make the top ten of the Ballon d’Or.

Victor Osimhen is not just a skillful footballer, he is also a responsible father of a child. He announced the birth of his first child, a daughter in October 2022. He is a Christian who also has a passion for humanity at heart just like former Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane. He has proposed in his heart to help disabled people throughout Africa.
