Let me first start with “omooo”. Omoooo x 1 million. The series is made of 3 stories and moments when life decided to really knock me down. As we know or must have heard from various motivational speakers, you pick yourself up when you get knocked down. But Life doesn’t even give you the chance to get up when you get knocked down. So I will also try to put in detail how I picked myself up after the 3 moments in this series. So say Omooo with me as you read.

STORY 1: THE PHONE

It was this one time in Secondary School. In my school, phones were not allowed at all. So I decided to make IDAN moves. Fun fact is I have never brought my phone to school before that and almost everyone else has been bringing. Na when e con reach my turn and we were even done with exams oo. So the teachers were having a meeting and I decided to bring out this phone. I was just pressing it small oo. That was how the teachers came to my class. I quickly hid it sef. They said I should bring it out. I just panicked. Me wey be small boy. They said they saw it downstairs from their meeting at the moment when the Principal was reminding the teachers that phones were not allowed. As in, they saw me and said “for example”. I just gave them the phone. It was a low for me because I was really begging and crying oo. As a model student, they said I was a disappointment. The thing pain me.

Summary sha; They gave me back after a week. It was really difficult at home sha because no-one knew I took the phone to school. I was really excited that day and wanted to show some of my friends games and movies. But Life said “Dey Play” and made it the worst day and week.

STORY 2: LOVE TRIANGLE

In my friend group or clique in secondary school, we were 7 people there; 5 guys and 2 girls. You don dey see improper fractions. Fun fact is we all still talk. So 2 of them liked each other and were in a relationship. For me, I didn’t like anyone until Life said Dey Play. Let’s called the two in a relationship B and D; D being the girl. SO basically, I ended up liking D. Well, another one of the guys (let’s say C) also liked D. You get the gist, D was hot-cake. So C set up a lie and told D, then D broke up with B because of the lie. Relationship keeds. So she then liked C and became closer to him whilst ignoring B. That was the love Triangle. All those while, I just dey and I didn’t confess my feelings. What a clown. I was waiting for everything to unravel and see if I can get a chance. So one day, B and D finally decided to get closure and discussed why they even fought or broke up. That was when D found out that C, who she was already liking, lied to her. So C and D fought and they also stopped talking. I gave her like a term to recover and became her close friend. When I finally got my chance and confessed my feelings, Life said just dey play again. She said she wasn’t ready for another drama and didn’t want to get into any relationship yet. She said she also liked me but she was worried that we might stop talking if it doesn’t work. I just had to move on. Life happens.

STORY 3: A WHOLE WEEK

There was this competition in Secondary school. As a top student, they asked me to represent along with some of my friends. We did round one and two and passed both. We were to move to the next round that will occur in a week. As soon as I got home that day, I started reading oo. I read oo. I carried one big textbook of Chemistry. Till today, I low-key get PTSD when I see that book. I started reading from page 1. Red pen on one side; Highlighter on another; Pencil to draw structures too. Each day, I was completing like 40 pages or more. I wanted to finish this book without skipping any page. For a whole week; Back to Back to Back. The day finally came. I was fully prepared. I was ready for any type of question. It was a quiz competition. They said we should pick a question from 1-20. The rule was if you miss one, you are out. I picked my number sha. The moment they asked me, I knew I was finished. I was just panicking. I sha missed it and and went out…after the first question…after a week. Life dey cook for real. That was a big Dey Play. It was even bigger when they found out that the questioner called the wrong question and the wrong option. I kind of knew the question and the options were off but what could I do? They moved on and said they’ve gone a few rounds. I actually felt bad for the whole day or week. Low-key depression wan set in. But I moved on. I feel so bad about it even now. I took a week to prepare now. But Life is Life.

PICKING UP:

For all the 3 stories, It was really later that I saw that Life always has to happen. The Competition Story helped because I hardly read Chemistry much again and it became easier to work. I ended up doing really well in WAEC due to that reason. I don’t even regret it but it’s not a really nice memory. That’s just one example. Right now, I’m in a good friendship and relationship with the best person and people in the world. Life helps us improve. The first STORY no really teach me much because I still brought my phone to school multiple times after that.

The truth is Life is still the best thing that can happen to someone. Sometimes it shocks you but all na training. Take life as it comes and have fun.
